Right after I graduated college I did everything I could to up and leave NYC and even the North East as fast as possible. At that time, many of my interests and my vision were changing, and so I got a job in Charlottesville, WV at an architecture firm doing mapping work. I listened to too much Townes van Zandt and drove with my dog on Skyline Drive on the weekends. I also, one night, had the pleasure of watching the Corndawg play at the Bridge with Erick the Redd. I’ve never forgot it, and I’ve been happy to follow his travels ever since on Myspace, and now Tumblr and Vimeo. He wouldn’t know me, except for this one time in 2007 I messaged him about buying one of those t-shirts he airbrushes. I found out later that he had moved to Philly, my hometown, right when I moved to Charlottesville, what I believe is his hometown.
